The Autumn 2016 George Borrow Bulletin is now out
(Series 2, No. 13) and members should have received their copy in
December 2016.
Our memorable weekend in Anglesey is covered, with Robin’s talk on Anglesey in the 1850s; also the 10th Fraser Memorial Lecture by Clive on Translating a Dream. Tony has written up a report of the weekend for those that couldn’t attend. Following on from the Anglesey visit there’s an account of another visitor to Anglesey (introduced by Ann) and a note on Penwern Hall, Llangollen by Mike.
There’s also more on dreaming: not just Clive’s lecture, but there’s two notes on it.
Our October visit to Epping is covered, with pictures, and Jessica’s wonderful talk The Heath and the Drawing-Room is given. This was the winner of the previous George Borrow Essay Competition and a fuller version will shortly be published by Lavengro Press.
A gentle reminder: subscription renewals are due 1st April 2017. Members who introduce a new member to the Society get a 20% rebate on the subscription cost so by all means let your friends know about our Society.
