Bald-Faced Stag, Buckhurst Hill

This topic was accidently researched on the belief that when George Borrow mentioned the “Bald-faced Hind on the hill above Fairlop” he meant the Bald-faced Stag on Buckhurst Hill.  It’s possible Borrow may have confused the two public houses, as did this researcher, but it appears the Hind was meant, not the Stag.

Whilst various materials have been gathered, they won’t be put on the Website until there’s more clarity about whether there’s any link between George Borrow and the Bald-faced Stag.
